Charity Gig for Newquay Food Bank - Cornwall
The time is nearly here, just a few days to go until the Acoustic Christmas charity gig is upon us.
This year in colloboration with Ocean Lodge Newquay, Falifornia Musicare putting on a night of live music from a brand new and exciting live music venue in Newquay! The Venue at Ocean Lodge. This brand new venue has been created to host some of the best local and touring musicicians in Cornwall and is the ideal home for this special event to raise money for such an important cause at this time of year. Most of us will have it all this Christmas. A turkey, loads of presents and crappy Christmas day tv. However some people arent as fortunate and we need to help them out. No-one, but no-one should be hungry at Christmas. So please, please come on down and support us on the night so that we can try to make sure that everyone gets fed this Christmas.
Food Donations are being split between Newquay Food Bank (www.newquayfoodbank.co.uk) and CPR (Camborne/Pool). Frontline care professionals such as the Children’s Centre, Schools, Police, CAB, the Red Cross identify people in need of food supplies and issue a voucher, the recipient then brings the voucher to one of the foodbank sessions and receives 3 days worth of food. If you cant make it along, there are donation boxes located as below: NEWQUAY Morrisons, Asda and Sainsburys, Barclays Bank Newquay, Barclays Bank Chester Road (there is a non food collection container at the NatWest Bank in Newquay for donations of shampoo, soap, toothpaste etc). There are also food donation boxes in the following churches: St Columb Minor, St Colan, Most Holy Trinity, The Salvation Army, Newquay Methodist, St Michaels, St Mawgan, St Enoder, The Christadelphian Church and St Columb Major Anyway, on from the important bit, about the night. The night will see someone of the best local musicians perform, giving up their time to help others this Christmas- thats what Christmas is all about!
